Elm Creek Neighborhood is the first residential gated community in San Antonio. Built in the 40's by Clarence A. Morgan after the property was purchased from the Friedrich family. What started out as the V shaped main building was was enlarged to 28 rooms and after sitting vacant for 10 years being vandalized and sat decaying it was decided to knock down the lodge. Although there was some talk of turning it into a clubhouse it was not possible due to the lack of stability in the lodge.
